Updating to 1.8.2 with PHP Selection | Forum

I got a question...should you change your PHP to 5.5 in your hosting server before you update while you still have your 1.8.1 platform and then your update with 1.8.2 or is there a better solution for this updating. My hosting server carries 5.4 which i am set up on at this time and running 1.8.1, but i have also found where i can set the Mode for 5.5 or 5.6 in my Cpanel with my hosting sever.
