Softaculous' inability to recognize the PHP version set in the .htaccess file (which is what PHP Selector does...Softaculous only recognizes the server's default version) is a known issue.

I'm sorry what softwaculous has to do with the Oxwall installation and php version?

That statement came from a hosting company that has 5.4 set as DEFAULT for PHP. When trying to install OXWALL , the following error was sent:

The following errors were found :

Required PHP version greater than equal to 5.5.0 AND found version is : 5.4.45

(The PHP was set to 5.6 in the cpanel before installation began, but the error above was being sent after clicking install along with this error:

The following errors were found :

Installation cannot proceed because the following files already exist in the target folder :
.htaccess
Please delete these files or choose another folder.OR
Select the checkbox to overwrite all files and continue )

check what php version your server actuall has via phpinfo.

My PHP vresion was set to 5.6 by the hosting company and this is still not working. I am guessing they are telling me, since there PHP is set to 5.4 default, softaculous is not going to recognize the php selector in the cpanel( i changed the selector to 5.6 and then set it) but it keeps reverting back to 5.4 when i try to install Oxwall with Softaculous...and softaculous is there Apps installer....now does that make any sense what so ever.

this was a reply back from another one of there TECHS:

This is a limitation of Softaculous specifically. It might be possible for you to modify Softaculous' hooks per the following wiki entry - https://www.softaculous.com/docs/Hooks - however, the easiest solution will probably be a manual installation of the CMS.

The PHP Selector should work fine, just not with Softaculous. Sorry about the trouble.

The Link was working and it was set to 56, but i really got tired of trying to get their hosting to work with downloading Oxwall. They kept telling me i would have to install oxwall manually because Softaculous would not recognize the php selection made in the PHP selector above there DEFAULT 5.4 , even though they changed it in the Phpinfo. Does that make any sense to you at all.

There cpanel does not list PHPINFO in it, they are the ones that said they made the changes to 5.6 and then sent me the link.

I don't know what do you mean by php selector and how it is affected by installation via softaculuous. Could you try to install manually: https://docs.oxwall.org/install:manual_installation

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

I just came across this topic.

It looks like you are using PHP Selector via CageFS which allows you to choose from multiple PHP version.

We have a hook file for CageFS to detect PHP version as selected by the user.

Softaculous installer does detect if CageFS is installed and automatically installs the hook but if CageFS was installed after installing Softaculous the hooks might not have been enabled.

You just need to copy 3 hook files in Softaculous which is explained here :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/Detect_PHP_Version_on_CageFS
