I started using Oxwall (version 1.3.x) about 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure of the exact version because I was forced to uninstall after updating to version 1.4. It instantly became my favorite CMS. After updating to version 1.4 I could not use the color editing boxes. Clicking on them resulted in nothing happening and I was editing the look of the site when I updated. Not having a website up and running yet, I chose to just do a clean install of version 1.4. Version 1.4 simply has too many problems. Some admin features do not work, others do but with bugs. The video plugin was changed for some reason not allowing admins to choose which websites could be allowed or disallowed to embed video. I had to uninstall. Now I have no Oxwall at all.
Please don't ask for details of the problems. I already stated that it has TOO MANY problems. I would install version 1.3.x but the only download available on this site is 1.4. I loved Oxwall while it lasted but I think I'm done with it. The sad thing is I loved it so much I would have paid for it. That is something I rarely say about software. Maybe it's time to hire software experts. I suggest using the specialist approach. Server, php, MySQL, HTML and CSS, security. These experts could thoroughly test the version before it is released.
Until Oxwall doesn't have so many basic problems, I'll be testing other scripts. I also love Skadate, that was the first script I wanted to use. Skadate was nearly exactly what I was looking for. The $350 fee for Skadate was simply too high, way too high, and with only temporary support.
Goodbye Oxwall, I still love you, but I have to let you go.
