Error 508 - resource limit reached - too many entry processes | Forum

Our site is taking off, which of course is a good thing.  At peak times, members are sometimes experiencing error 508 - resource limit is reached.

Our hosting provider says the problem is that our site is reaching the entry processes limits, and we need to look at optimising the site.

Are there any recommendations, tips, advice or help that anyone can offer in terms of how to optimise the site to avoid this issue?

Hi,

Did your host offer any solutions?  They must not be willing to help you use more resources. Sounds like a typical host...

Reaching max processes and optimization are two different things.

To optimize is to take what you have and make it go faster and perform better.

To add more process to the queue that is a setting that your host will have to do or that you can "try" to do via your php ini and/or htaccess as long as your host does not reprimand you for it.

However if you are on a VPS or DED server then yes you have access to all of those settings unless you are on a reseller program or something which limits your servers ability.

have a read here :)
