I don't see why not. There would simply be no more updates. Any plugins you have today that are compatible, and work with the current version, would continue to work. Some people even stay with older platforms. I always download the latest version of plugins that I have in addition to running the auto updater. That way I always have an up to date copy of everything.

ah ok, got an email saying that even if oxwall was discontinued you'd still be able to use it.

It is better not to happen......
Hope the oxwall could be strong......
If no future maintenance and update, can you still use it?
Changing platform is awful thing for webmaster........
