Good job!! I've been working with the Simplicity theme. I've made several css adjustments to make it responsive. I've learned a lot by doing it. I'm not a pro either, but if you get your hands dirty, you'll learn. The internet, and Inspect element are my friends. I prefer Inspect element with Firebug, and Firefox developer tools for quick responsive views.
