I believe you must have FFMPEG or RTMP server. I think this is a server issue that you need to ask your host about.  From my experience if you dont have FFMPEG OR RTMP you cant do video streaming.

I dont think there is a red 5 plugin either..   Lets see what ross has to say, he should know about this :)

you might give this a read as well

I don't think that you can have red5 on a shared hosting installed. You need to obtain at least a VPS or find already a shared hosting with red5 support, as shared hosting won't be able to handle red5.

Besides Dave is right, besides red5 you will need FFMPEG or RMTP for video streaming

Do you want to stream videos or webcam ?
I don't think shared hosting with red5 support exist.
You need a good VPS with good cpu and ram.

RED5 is a rtmp server.
You need it to stream videos.
FFMPEG is needed to encode videos to streamable mp4 or flv

You can use nginx with mod_mp4 to make pseudo streaming, it works as well, if you want to stream mp4 files.

May be i can make a plugin to provide streaming capability for shared hosting, and provide hosted rtmp server.
Contact me to explain what you need excatly.
