shouldn't the photos you post to the newsfeed go into a special default folder? that way its easier to upload photos to sites for people who just want to post an image on the fly

Why doesn't userfiles folder work for these purposes? Photos are still linked to members even if uploaded via Newsfeed. What is the point of having separate folders for photos uploaded via Photo plugin and via Newsfeed?

because userfiles folder doesnt appear if when a person uploads a photo to newsfeed it went to a album maybe titled wall photos for ease of access this is for the end users to easily access and see the image without having to endlessly look for it in the newsfeed

Well, as usual all I can do is to offer you posting your suggestion at oxwall.uservoice.com and we will probably implement it to the script.
