Just going to check running on ubuntu 16.04 with php7.0 is there any problems there as I know the mysql php extension is installed as I have another virtual host working fine?

Yeah which is good as just decided to go for ubuntu 14.04 and php5 and this time mysql :)
It was MariaDB then was it, as yes it is working now.
