a while back we were told there would be group photos and videos.now although we can upload to the newsfeed this really does not constitute as group photos there should be an album somewhere or a tab

You could try a direct core mod, or maybe a plugin could be used but i am not sure how / if i could get the links direct into the group view. will check

Aliia, will the feature for chat described in your link above for oxwall 1.5 show actual chatroom with multi chat happening for all to join or is that same as current method of single chat one to one ?
