Where can I find the GD library calls for image manipulation during / after upload?

From reading through the forum I've noted that the imageing system uses the GD library to proccess images within oxwall. I'm trying to get an idea of the structure used when proccesses are made. So I'm looking for a starting point.

ASSUMPTION:

Given that images are used in the plugins...

photo 

forum

newsfeed

etc.

I assume that there is a core code base that all of them make calls to for image processing as opposed to redundant code in each plugin.
