It is hard to compete with free, but Shutterfly Sites don't quite do what we want so I'm searching for an alternatives. 

At first glance this looks close to Shutterfly's features, but I wanted to ask about a couple of things I didn't see. 

For events, is there a calendar view? 

The bigger wish involves helping us replace 9+ separate sites into one. The members would be members of one or two sub groups, and able to see things that are posted for all to see. 

Can people in each of the sub groups be assigned management roles for their subgroup, but have limited responsibilities for the overall site? 

I don't think many of our users have ordered photos and things from Shutterfly, but photo sharing will be a big element of this site. Are there extensions that expand on the basic photo features?
