The next step is to select Open or Restore a Backup Copy and hit Next.

Now opt for the Local Backup and Next options respectively.

And then opt for the location of the backup file from the drop-down.

After that select the backup file.

Followed by clicking Open and then hitting Next.

Moving ahead, the user is required to select the location where the user wants to restore the file from the save in drop-down.

Now, type a new file name in the file name field and then save as type field should will populate QuickBooks files (*.QBW).

Coming towards the end, hit Save and respond to all the messages that pop up appropriately before the restoration starts.

QuickBooks Error Codes 6150 and 1006 typically occur when there is an issue with the company file or when the company file is corrupted. Here are some steps you can take to resolve these error codes:

Update QuickBooks: Ensure that you have the latest updates for QuickBooks installed. Go to the Help menu within QuickBooks and select "Update QuickBooks." Download and install any available updates.

Run the QuickBooks File Doctor: QuickBooks provides a built-in diagnostic tool called the QuickBooks File Doctor. Download and run this tool from the QuickBooks support website. It can help identify and fix common issues related to company files, including error codes 6150 and 1006.

Restore a backup of the company file: If you have a backup of the company file (.QBB extension), you can try restoring it. Go to the File menu in QuickBooks and select "Open or Restore Company." Choose "Restore a Backup Copy" and follow the on-screen prompts to select and restore the backup file.

Use the QuickBooks Auto Data Recovery feature: If you have enabled the QuickBooks Auto Data Recovery feature, it can help recover the data from a recent transaction log file (.TLG) and a copy of the company file (.QBW). Refer to the QuickBooks support website for detailed instructions on how to use this feature.

Copy the company file to a different location: Create a new folder on your computer and copy the company file (.QBW) to that folder. This can sometimes help resolve file-related issues. Open QuickBooks and try opening the company file from the new location.

Create a new QuickBooks company file: If all else fails, you can create a new company file and manually enter your data or import data from a backup or a previously exported file. Be cautious when creating a new company file, as you may lose some of your existing data. It's advisable to consult with an accounting professional before taking this step.
