In notifications on my site, when someone comments on your status, it doesn't show the status preview, instead it shows this variable:

{$status}

Guys, have you already tried to uninstall/install "Activity Notifications" plugin?
I can not reproduce this on my own Oxwall installation. Most likely the issues is in old language files.

Let me know if re installation doesn't help.

You have to uninstall the plugin and install it again.
