Users occasionally encounter the QuickBooks error 15212when updating the application or installing its payroll. That causes the app to not fully install on your device. Hence, users who encounter this error see an error message on their computer that refers to the incomplete installation. Although this issue by itself does little harm, it may result in other error codes like 12507, 6147, etc. So, you must address the 15212 error code as soon as possible.

Solution 1: Run QuickBooks Desktop as Administrator

Close QuickBooks and any other open programs.

Right-click on the QuickBooks Desktop icon.

Select "Run as administrator."

Try updating QuickBooks Payroll again.


Solution 2: Clear Internet Explorer Cache

Open Internet Explorer.

Go to "Settings" (gear icon in the upper-right corner) and select "Internet Options."

Under the "General" tab, in the Browsing history section, click "Delete."

Check "Temporary Internet files" and "Cookies and website data," then click "Delete."

Restart Internet Explorer and try updating QuickBooks Payroll again.


Solution 3: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the Latest Release

Ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release.

Go to the "Help" menu and select "Update QuickBooks Desktop."

Click on the "Update Now" tab.

Select "Get Updates" to download and install the latest updates.
