Why Glenmorangie?

Glenmorangie is a single malt whiskey, which means it’s made from 100% malted barley. It’s one of the most awarded whiskies in the world, and it’s also owned by a family-run distillery in Scotland–the only one to use 100% Scottish barley for its products.

Glenmorangie is known for its smoothness and complexity, thanks to its unique water source (it comes from an underground spring at Loch Lomond) as well as its careful aging process. This whisky has been described as having “a rich aroma with hints of citrus fruit and vanilla,” along with “a fruity palate with apple notes followed by sweet maltiness.”

Origins and History of the Glenmorangie Distillery

The Glenmorangie Distillery is a single malt whisky distillery located in the Highland region of Scotland. It was founded in 1843 by William Matheson, who was born in Elgin, Moray. The distillery is located on the banks of the River Tain and has been producing quality single malt whiskey ever since its inception.

The Glenmorangie Company owns six other distilleries: Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Balmenach (both owned by parent company Highlands & Islands), Bailiemore (owned by parent company Highlands & Islands), Braeval and Dailuaine; however these do not produce any whisky for sale as they are used solely for blending purposes at their other locations across Scotland: Banffshire; Aberdeenshire; Speyside etcetera…
