You get the error message “QuickBooks error 1311 source file not found”when the CD drive used for the installation is corrupted or damaged. Also, if the installation files are damaged, this will cause the error 1311.

You can resolve the issue by following the steps here for the said error:

• Go to the start menu and then navigate to the Control panel option.

• On the C panel, click on Administrative Tools and then on the local security policy.

• Next, go to the local policies folder, and click on the security options.

• Now restrict access to CD - ROM for all the other users who are logged in to the workstation.

• Lastly, repeat the selection process completed in the previous step and restart the PC. 

Also, try to use a soft cloth to clean the media gently, and now download the QuickBooks again
