Remember that tax laws and regulations can change, so it's crucial to regularly update your payroll tax tables to stay compliant and ensure accurate payroll calculations. 


  • Open your QuickBooks software.

  • Go to the "Employees" menu or the section related to payroll.

  • Look for the option that says something like "Download Payroll Updates in QuickBooks" on your screen or "Get Payroll Updates" are the same things.

  • QuickBooks should connect to the internet and check for the latest updates.

  • If there are new payroll updates available, QuickBooks will prompt you to choose an update type. 

  • Typically, you'll want to select "Entire Payroll Update" to ensure you're getting all the necessary updates, including tax tables.
