1. Update QuickBooks:
Outdated versions can lead to software issues. Always ensure you have the latest updates installed.
Go to Help > Update QuickBooks.
Select the Options tab and choose "Mark All" for updates, then click Save.
Go to the Update Now tab and click the Reset Update checkbox before finally hitting Get Updates.
2. Run Quick Fix My Program:
This built-in tool diagnoses and fixes common QuickBooks problems.
Go to the QuickBooks Tools Hub (download it if you haven't already).
Select the Company File Issues tab.
Click Quick Fix My File.
Wait for the process to complete and reopen QuickBooks.
3. Use the Install Diagnostic Tool:
This advanced tool identifies potential issues with your QuickBooks installation.
Go to the QuickBooks Tools Hub and select Install Diagnostic Tool.
Let the tool run its course, usually around 20 minutes, and restart your computer when finished.
4. Restore a Local Backup:
If you have a recent backup of your company file, restoring it can replace the potentially corrupted file.
Go to File > Open or Restore Company.
Select Restore a backup copy and then Next.
Choose Local Backup and pick the desired backup file.
Hit Save to replace your current file with the backup.
