Manually Update Plugins | Forum

Conrad

Hi all,

first off, I run my own dedicated server, no CPanel etc..., just lovely ssh and command line.

Anyway my oxwall install is telling me that there are three plugins that need updating.

I click update and it asks me for FTP details'

FTP!! Surely you are joking? An outdated, obsolete, insecure and outright dangerous protocol - No thanks!

Anyway, I don't mind - I'll just upload and install manually, I think.

Unfortunately I can not find the updated plugins anywhere. In the store it is the old versions.

Can anybody help me find the update plugins - eg Mailbox 5237

Thanks

If your using Cpanel just use your sites url address the same user and password. Then if you have any problems with security just change the password.   I personal have not installed FTP on my sites in Cpanel and uploads work a treat.

Conrad, FTP protocol is required for automatic updates and the latest build of Blogs plugin in the Oxwall Store is 5836.
