Method 1: Resetting the Multi-User Mode

The process to reset the Multi-user mode involves the following steps:

  • Run QuickBooks on the server PC.
  • Now, go to File menu.
  • From there, move to Utilities tab.

 

  • Now, click on Stop Hosting Multiple User Access.

  • Hit on Yes to provide your consent.
  • Then, again go to File tab and make an exit from QuickBooks.
  • Re-run QuickBooks, and click on Utilities.
  • Select Host Multi-User Access, and then hit on Yes.

Method 2: Update QuickBooks

Recent updates come with advanced incorporations to facilitate ease of working. These also fix any glitches existing in the older versions of QuickBooks, which can also include QuickBooks Error code 6177. The steps to follow are:

  • Terminate all the active sessions of QuickBooks and the background programs.
