this plugin does not give you the option for visitors to join as a paid member!!!!! This is ONLY a plugin that OFFERS an option for your present members or new members to SUBSCRIBE TO A PAID MEMBERSHIP. Newly joining members will not see anything that has to do with this plugin when they register for this site..I repeat, new members will not see the pay option upon registration, they will be given default status, which is free..it gives you a checklist of permissions that you can set for free and paid members, like if a free member can be allowed to view the features of the site such as video, groups, blogs, etc......this plugin just adds a page to the existing site where present or newly joined members can pay for the advanced membership and be able to use all of the options instead of just a limited amount of them....otherwise they will see a message that states they do not have enough permissions to view this page.....you can set it to where they can view the features but not post, reply, or email with the free account.....if i had known this i wouldn't have paid $40 for this....you have to by the paypal billing plugin $20, for this to work....so all in all, they are fooling people into buying a product by not giving enough information about it.....and apparently they are partners with oxwall, so oxwall is condoning the theft of your money.....have a nice day.....

The developer is telling half truths. This Plugin, "Paid Membership" will not work unless you buy an additional plugin called "Paypal Billing". So if you pay $20 dollars for this plugin, for it it to work the way it was intended, you will have to pay another $20 to buy a payment gateway. Bringing your Total to $40. So if you don't want to pay $40 dollars then do not buy this plugin! The developer SCALFA LL should tell buyers of this plugin upfront that one must first buy the "paypal billing plugin" So it requires another $20 plugin to work. Furthermore since this plugin only uses paypal a a payment gateway, countries that dont use paypal are screwed. This plugin in essence cost $40 not $20. It is a scam. ************************************** NEW INFORMATION!!!! Dec/1/2012 The developer SCALFA has since corrected the earlier over site in not informing that the plugin requires a payment gateway to function. Now there is a note saying that the plugin requires a payment gateway to fully function The Plugin actually is a very good plugin for membership monetization and works well as it is intended. It has one little problem. If you enter $0.00 dollars for membership fee, it still processes it and takes you to paypal website. And paypal will reject processing a $0.00 amount and the application kind of freezes. The developer ought to put some logical code preventing this from happening. However I wish the developer had packaged this plugin with the payment gateway together and sold both for $20. Ordinarily Oxwall should have implemented a basic payment gateway and have developers extend on it. The developer too was gracious enough to refund my $20 considering the over sight. I highly recommend the plugin, but still believe it is too expensive.
