I use the Avenue Theme and I wanted to try adding a background picture to it but I cant see where to do that :(

I know nothing of php just basic html.

I did try to add a colour to the menu at the top but that never worked ..

So can anyone point me in the right direction on adding a background and colour to the menu bar?
