Hi, my name is Martina and I'm 33 and from the UK, i am wanting to get a career in fashion design hopefully focusing on haute couture pieces. I am currently studying at A-levels a textiles course, but I have a dilemma at present as to what will be best for me to do at the end of my A-levels. Do I go to university to do a fashion design degree or what other options are out there? Any help and advice is muchly appreciated.

I am engaged in clothing customization, and I believe that it takes several years of experience to establish my own clothing brand.

Hey Martina. That’s awesome you’re aiming for a career in fashion design. I'm a bit older now, but I was in a similar spot a few years back. I decided to go to university for a fashion design degree, and it was a fantastic experience. But there's more than one way to get there! You could also consider internships or apprenticeships with fashion houses to get hands-on experience. Recently, I’ve been exploring ai fashion tools and they’re game-changers. I used one to design a dress for a local event, and it really helped bring my vision to life. It might be worth looking into how tech like that can complement your skills.
