I saw that a user uploaded a photo.  I click on the photo and the display thing comes up but the photo never displays.

I found a solution.


ow_pluginfiles/photo
ow_userfiles/plugins/photo


Make sure these folders have 777 access.  Please post if this is greek to you.

Wouldn't 755 be the correct permissions.  777 would be a very bad security risk would it not?

Well, on a previous post about this issue on the admins suggested it.  Would 777 allow anyone to edit or?

I changed it back to 755, and the photoviewer works till someone wants to go back to the previous image.. then its just blank.

777 would give worldwide write and execute access to that folder would it not?

As long as your webserver itself is secure having 777 permissions to those folders is safe.

Is that required to make the photo viewer work?   That seems kind of odd.

I was advised by my hosting provider to NEVER run 777 permissions that it should never be necessary.

Just to be cooperative I changed the permissions to 777 on those two directories but that did NOT fix anything.
