How can I prevent new users from appearing in the newsfeed before they are approved?   For example someone registers and uploads an offensive avatar like that shows a woman's baby feeders.

Now the photo shows up in the main newsfeed until it gets noticed and removed.

Thank you,Steve

I believe oxwall has this functionality built into it as it stands.

That would be wonderful!  Want to provide a clue as to how?

Oxwall has many wonderful and exciting features, but documentation does not appear to be among them.

Certainly!

Admin>Admin Dashboard>Privacy & Permissions

Check out 'Mandatory User Approve' and see if that's not what you need.

That was already checked.  The issue is that they are showing up with avatar in the newsfeed BEFORE being approved.  I don't want to remove the option for them to upload an avatar at signup if I don't have to.

Thanks!

Hmm that is a bit confusing. I think this is going to require a Custom Code Modification as I've just noticed the same thing in my installation.

It should be the default scenario.

go to your newsfeed plugin  in installed plug ins - edit the plug in and click  content and uncheck new user registration

this should stop new users from showing on the newsfeed

Thanks bobbi!  Good information.

But, I want the new users to appear in the news feed.  That is very important.  They just should not appear before they are approved.

Quote from Steve Winter It should be the default scenario.

I completely agree with you, Steve. I'm working on a fix as we speak and am going to post this as a bug.

Yes this is a bug and yes it needs a fix!

Existing members are welcoming spammers on the newsfeed even if they are unapproved/unverified.
