Are you sure? url_fopen is pretty standard. Did you check to see if it was turned off in your php.ini file..
check your php ini file for this allow_url_fopen = Off if that is there you can just comment it out if you want like so (the semi-colon indicates a comment) in ini file.
;allow_url_fopen = Off
Or change it to On whichever you want.
I keep mine commented out all the time.

Asif, Oxwall needs url_fopen to be enabled and unfortunately I can't help you with your question.

It would take some special coding to change that over to curl. And then every time you update you will need to convert it again and again and again.
So i would recommend that you get with your host and have them enable url_fopen or change hosting companies. It sounds to me like your host is very limited in features, there are much better hosts out there.
