Something must be still missing with the email notifications. I suppose that anytime a member does anything on the site, an auto email notification will be sent to all friends.
Also, if a group member does anything in a group, email goes out to all group members. But this does not happen on my site. If Oxwall is not designed to send these notices, then they should be looked into.

Please, check your e-mail notifications settings. My preferences/Email Notifications. As to the group related notifications, it works only when Someone posts a wall comment in a group a member participate in and when someone invites me to a group
