Strange that i have three sites with Oxwall and yet they differ slightly in process, i suspect its because two are main domains and one is an addon domain but still i find some of the differences interesting.
For example on the add on domain when i update the css in the theme and restore the cache (both with the cache plugin and also the dev mode) it does not update my static theme file, i have to do that manually at times, yet other times it does fine.
But on the main domains i cannot even make changes to my static theme css because the install (im guessing) closed that off permission wize but thats ok because the static changes fine when i edit my theme css and restore the cache.
I also find it interesting that at times the extreme cache does nothing on my add on domain because i have to resort to the F5 method on the page, where as the main domain sites i have no issue with.
So im guessing it has something to do with the standard rewrites being more designed for main domains than for add on domains.
Trust me i dont like it either, you would think that an add on domain would be as exclusive and private(according to the server) as a main domain, but its not. Anyway you slice it, that add on domain is a sub directory of another domain, yeah maybe it has its own privacy in some ways but the more you deal with add on domains you find that they are just a fancy subdomain with many of the same issues.
I have considered pulling my add on domains and never having another one, just move them all to their own cPanel and have sub domains only for misc stuff i need.. But to never ever again have to deal with the trouble of add on domains and their finicky ways. I dont care if i have to log into 10 dif cpanels at least i know all the sites are structured the same..
Sorry for the ramble lol....
Anyone else feel the same.
