Newsfeed - "like" and "dislike" don't behave same way | Forum

strange :

when I click on the "dislike" button in a newsfeed message, it opens a posting option so I can add a comment.
but, when I click on the "like" button, it doesn't allow me to post a comment.

any idea ?

it is meant to do that, a posting option and a like button,  the like button works the same as facebook and the other just opens a box so you can leave a comment, thankfully there is no dislike option on our newsfeed :)

Marc, you mean the same "like" button? When you click on it system just removes your like.

I wasn't able to reproduce your issue, I click on already liked item and I didn't get the comment form.

May be I am looking in a wrong place.

Aliia,
more about what I wrote earlier :
in a newsfeed message :
- when I click on the "dislike" button, it opens a posting option so I must add a comment to make the "dislike" taken in consideration. Then if I click again the "dislike" button, my comment is deleted, but the +1 "dislike" point remains. If I click again the "dislike" button, my previous comment appears again and its add another +1.
- when I click on the "like" button, it adds +1 like but doesn't allow me to post a comment. Then I can cancel the "like" by clicking again on the "like" button".
- also, I can "dislike" and "like" same posting, and set +1 on each side !

(sorry for double posting)

bobbi,
do you mean the left button has to be understood as a "posting" button, not a "dislike" button ?
so options are "comment" and "like" ...
well, due to my bad eyes, I misunderstood the icon.
Grrr, maybe people shouldn't try to build websites after 50.

Thank you both for your answers.

=) welcome.
Things can be confusing sometimes.

But yes, one button ( on the left) is for comments. And another one for likes/unlikes. First click on "like" button allows you to like item, second click on the same button allows you to unlike liked item.

I'd really like a dislike button. Is there an easy way to add one?
