that's if you are referring to the registration page but if on other pages, please specify.

I noticed you have already tried to add the Custom text/HTML widget, that's the way to go, all you have to do now is to click on the CUSTOMIZE THIS PAGE link at the top of your page, then edit (click on the gear icon) or add a new Custom text/HTML widget where you want your slideshow to appear, viz.. paste your slideshow contents and and hit the save button.

Meanwhile, you can as well download the Image Slideshow plugin from the store.
 Hope I'm not going off point?
