Cron Job not set up | Forum

I know this has been addressed before but the problem was supposed to be fixed with the version 1.5.3 - which I have just installed. I looked at my cPanel cron jobs and it is set up there - in fact there are 2 different ones listed - curl and wget. I set it to send emails and it did - here are the emails:

curl

% Total    % Received % Xferd  Average Speed   Time    Time     Time  Current
Dload  Upload   Total   Spent    Left  Speed

  0     0    0     0    0     0      0      0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:--     0
100   300  100   300    0     0   4360      0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:--  146k
<html><head><title>Error 406 - Not Acceptable</title><head><body><h1>Error 406 - Not Acceptable</h1><p>Generally a 406 error is caused because a request has been blocked by Mod Security. If you believe that your request has been blocked by mistake please contact the web site owner.</p></body></html>

and here is the wget

/bin/sh: /usr/bin/wget: Permission denied

Are they set up wrong or is this the response you are supposed to get? And if they are correct how do I get rid of the cron job not set up message in Admin section.

Judging by the errors one of your mod_security rules is blocking Cron.

You'll need to find what rule is interfering and if possible disabling it.
Easiest way is just to contact your host and ask them to check this for you.

Most host services won't check the OXWall scripts for what is causing the conflicts; I only have one possible security rule installed, all the rest are original OXwall

http://www.oxwall.org/forum/topic/12674 Would not be causing this problem.

Try one of these cron commands.

wget -q -O /dev/null http://www.site.com/ow_cron/run.php
curl http://www.site.com/ow_cron/run.php

Cron is working, Hostmonster had to adjust it when I updated PHP version and the new php.ini file cron command was wrong. They fixed it, and it is working now for a few days...

When i send my self PM's, or post on a wall trying to get activity emails, PM's anything other than verification's it just doesn't want to work...

I'm about to give up on this one...

Fred, with activity notifications ( such as PMs) you will need to make sure that you have selected "Immediately" under My Preferences>>Email Notifications. Otherwise activity email notificaitons will come only if you have been inactive on your site for 2 days.
