my site leads to a blank page

Same here. When I logged out on Firefox, my site now leads to a blank page. I circumvented that by using Chrome. After accessing my site again through Chrome, I logged out and experienced the same problem in Chrome - a blank page. I can now only access my site through Internet Explorer.

It's been like this for two days now.

1. If you have installed/updated any plugins, try deactivating them one by one.
2. Make sure that error reporting is enabled on your server.
3. Check your server's error logs.

If none of the above helps, PM me:

1. your site URL
2. admin panel username/password
3. FTP access details.

Noting that when I cleared my browsing history/cache/cookies in Chrome, I was able to access my site again in that browser. I haven't done the same for Firefox, but I plan to soon.

I've experimented with my plugins. They don't seem to be the cause of the issue, but I'll keep working with them.

Thanks for the help. My error log has several entries for the following two errors since Dec. 26:

[26-Dec-2013 20:34:37] PHP Fatal error: Class 'ANTIBRUTEFORCE_BOL_Service' not found in [URL omitted by me] /social/ow_plugins/smartcaptcha/controllers/smart_captcha.php on line 85

[28-Dec-2013 17:08:42] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getEmail() on a non-object in [URL omitted by me]/social/ow_plugins/quicksignin/components/recent_login.php on line 59

i think it is due to installing a plugin because I went into cpanel and edited a file. Do you have the plugin custom poker?

Have you resolved your problem?

Ari, can't tell for sure whether errors from your error log are connected to blank page issue, but it is worth trying to deactivate plugins mentioned in those errors: smartcaptcha and quicksignin.

Shouldn't all of the plugins work across both platforms?  If they don't then they should not be allowed to be sold because they are nothing more than work in progress.

if you go to www.modern-nationalist.com in IE and then compare it to Firefox you will see what the problem is.  In the bottom left corner in IE it says page loaded with errors.

I have uploaded all of the updates so these bugs should have been fixed.

Modern,

>>Shouldn't all of the plugins work across both platforms

Are you referring to IE and Firefox?  ( to browsers in general)?
If yes, then I have checked your site. Results in IE and in Firefox are the same - 500 error.

FF:

IE:

It is up to developer to specify which browser his plugin supports.
Usually most of the plugins that exist in store work in all browser with just minor bugs in design/layout.

Have you checked your server error logs?

The new Oxwall does not play well with Internet Explorer 11.

It came up for me as a blank page to.

Quick fix.

Go to Tools . Compatibility view settings and then add your site and press close.

Page will reload and work.  Be sure also in internet options to uncheck "Clear history on exit" as this will wipe out your compatibility site settings.

Thanks for the hint Todd. Oxwall itself doesn't support IE11 yet.

In IE I am having problems.  The front page is loading but it says it has errors on it which is making it load very slowly.  The errors are as listed below.

Webpage error details

Also, I have another problem that you may be able to help me with.  When I uploaded the site it uploaded it to the /groupware/ folder as instructed.  However, I found that I had to put an index.html page into the public.html folder with a very short timed redirect to the index.php page in the /groupware/ folder to get the site to load.

Is there a better way of doing this without having to reload the whole site again from the /groupware/ folder into the public.html folder.  If I do reload the main files can I still use my existing database that links to the /groupware/ folder.

Can I just cut and past the files from the /groupware/ folder directly into the public.html folder and get it to work straight away.

Sorry for my ignorance in this matter.
Kind regards

Steve

Using the compatibility view in IE causes the menu buttons to either disappear with just three of them that do appear are lined up in the middle of the box vertically.  Also, the same thing happens to the members pics, they all line up vertically as well.

Modern, answering your questions:

Moving your files to the root directory is the best solution.
1. Move your files from /groupware/ subfolder.
2. Change your site name in config.php
3. You will still be using your old database, however since Oxwall will no longer be under this subfolder all the links to content uploaded before migration ( photo, newsfeed items, activity notifications) will lead to 404 not found.

    a) you will need to rename  the path for the content in database manually
    b) do fresh installation of oxwall in your root directory and use Data Exporter-Data Importer plugins to migrate your content.

Seems like compatibility view was removed from the latest versions of IE. I was not able to find this.
Menus in IE11 look ok.
