Hello,

I am just starting to learn how to create theme for Oxwall and would like to know what are the files needed for the theme to be displayed in the admin panel?

I copied one theme files but I can make it appear on the admin panel for now. I activated the debug mode and still nothing happened.

Thank you in advance for you help and have a good day,

Best regards,

Nobody can tell me anything about that? Not even a clue?

If I understood  Oxwall is using smarty for the templates right?

Julien, have you checked our theme docs already?

1. http://docs.oxwall.org/design:themes
2. http://docs.oxwall.org/...themes-for-beginners

 Just to clear things up:
1. You have copied one of our default themes.
2. Changed theme.xml file to contain your theme's name and key
3. Added your new theme using "Admin panel>>appearence>>add new theme?

Hello Allia, thank you for your answer.

Yes I looked at all the docs possible about Oxwall.

This is what I did :

  1. I have copied a theme that I bought in Oxwall store
  2. Changed its folder name to the one I wanted for the theme
  3. Changed its theme.xml file to contain my theme's name and key
I thought that this would be enough for the system to understand that a new theme is there but if I understood right I also need to add the theme in the administration panel right? I will try it out and let you know. Thank you for your help and have a good day, Julien

Hello again Allia,

Uploading the theme thanks to oxwall user interface did the trick. Make sure you zip it first though.

Thank you for your help :)

Julien, it was not working for your previously, because just uploading theme's files to your server is not enough. Data about the new theme needs to be added to the database as well. Doing this manually is way to painful. Much easier to upload the theme from admin panel. In this case system adds everything to database automatically.
