You can sometimes change the colour through Admin/ Edit Theme/Theme Settings or in more difficult cases, the theme's CSS file. You do have to be careful with the latter, because the CSS colour setting may also be used on other parts of your site and you'll get white where you don't want it.

If you don't know how to do it, changing CSS elements can be a bit daunting. Tell me the Theme you are using because every theme is different. If it's a freebie, I'll download it, change the colour and send the modified theme to you. It may transfer as a PM attachment, but I can't guarantee it.
