Problem urls after domain change | Forum

Abbey
Abbey Mar 27 '14
I recently changed domain name and I've just noticed the activity on newsfeed for Groups and forum still link to the old url.
ie: username joined group
Group Name (this link points to old url)

Forum posts on newsfeed:

username replied in forum topic
Forum Topic Title (this link points to old url)
(some content)

Latest reply (this url is ok)

Any ideas how to fix this?

Abbey, this kind of information is static and it is saved in the database. It is not easy to delete it to replace the URL: "http:\/\/10.0.0.4\/user\/qwe" - you need to parse this data to detect which of the attributes is the URL and how to replace this with the new one. Therefore it's not so easy as you described. You need to write a script which will parse the newsfeed data, find the URLs and change them to new URLs.

which is why you'll need to delete those posts manually and new ones will have the actual URL or the "hard way" just reinstall the newsfeed plugin, this way, you, of course, will loose all newsfeed items

Hi, thanks for your reply... I think the reinstall is the answer..... I don't think it'll matter.
If I download the latest version from the store is it compatible with the 5.3 version? I haven't updated yet

No, it's not compatible with 1.5.3. Newsfeed for 1.5.3 can be taken from the oxwall package for 1.5.3 http://www.oxwall.org/dl/oxwall-1.5.3.zip
