Is there any way to chose what fields get filled with things fetched from fb?

Yes, you can do that via Admin Area > Plugins > Facebook connect >> Settings >> Profile Questions Synchronization tab.

Exactly... and it is no longer giving people an avatar when they join with facebook.
I installed the plugin now and don't have this option.

Pedro, it's been removed, because FB now have more strict regulations related to the APP, now the app should be approved by FB and they do now allow this synchronization.
