If someone post to the wall, their avatar is next to the post.
If someone likes the post, the avatar on the post changes to the person that likes it.
Anyone else have this issue, and is there a way to fix it?

yes. Very easy mod just make sure to keep in mind that updating the newsfeed plugin will undo your changes.
