1. Smileys displayed on comments, Blogs, Forum, Mailbox, Instant Chat. Not work on event, photo, video, links.
2. Yes. Smileys converted by JavaScript. That code you may find here: ow_plugins/smileys/static/js/smileys.js line #369

On point 1: Not in events is bad. For me a reason not to buy.Sorry for the long waiting a response.
