Care to share your networks? I would be interested in seeing some successful updates, before attempting my own. I had to completely restart my site on the last update and I have over 1500+ members, which I don't want to lose them again.

Still 1.6:

I am quite pleased with this update ,I think this is one of the best updates by far from oxwall ,once there is a fix out for photo plugin ,things well be good .I just wish oxwall would add forum into mobile in next update ,and maybe a DB  backup in admin .Also would be good for  smf forum bridge, which would be ideal ,to expand oxwall.

I wish the comment redesign included a reply button, I'm sure that wouldn't be too difficult for them.

My update was glitchy because I ran into database issues, but that was most likely due to something I did or didn't do and not with the software.  Also I went from 1.5.3 to 1.7 so I honestly suspect that the issues I encountered had a lot to do with not having done the 1.6 update prior.

Regardless, in spite of that and a couple of plug ins that are no longer compatible (expected with such a major core code change), everything has been sorted out and so far so good.

My only "dislike" is, as was mentioned the removal of the reply button.  It takes some getting used to not to hit enter to make a line break and post before the reply is finished and some of my members are still grousing about it...then again some of them grouse about everything..lol

I would suggest to get the Comment Editor plug in once the site is updated, it seems to play nicely with all of the more common plug ins and goes a long way in keeping users from getting too annoyed with that until they do get used to it ;) http://www.oxwall.org/store/item/863

I like 1.7 overall and my site members are really loving the multiple photo upload system. I'm not particularly thrilled with the mobile, seems rather rudimentary and limited, but at least it's now an option for my users, and I'm sure it will only improve with time :)

You probably know this already but it bears saying; Be very sure to back up your old site and your database first, even going from 1.6 to 1.7, just in case....I'm certainly glad I did or I would have been one unhappy camper..lol
