at the moment the slideshow seems to first load ALL images before starting to displaying the first. At a slower connection this can take ages. I optimized the size of my images, but still...

PLEASE, I know the new version came just out, but can you please change the slideshow plugin so that the images are loaded in the background (via ajax) and starts immediately as soon as one or two images are loaded?
