I really tried to like this software. I've tried dozens of free ones. Its really annoying when people can actually write code and then they write crap. When you sign up on any oxwall installation the page freezes, stalls there until the user goes and verifies by email. There is no reason for the page to stall. It should revert to the homepage. This is a simple coding issue, I don't see the point. This software comes close to be good. But the search continues.

That's not a coding issue, but a feature.
You can disable email confirmation in admin panel here /admin/settings/user

I think he wants users to still confirm their email but be able to browse the site if they dont

In this case you disable, confirm e-mail option and set mandatory user approval as on, this is the only option, otherwise this is a custom code modification.
