My sites been down for a total of 3 days now we had our server do the update to 1.7 and app they had some issues they have done numerous backups that were working perfectly before but now all the site does is throw up issues this is there email to me along with the error, we would appreciate help in fixing this

unfortunately none of the backups hold all oxwall plugins that were at
some point active on your website, and for which your oxwall database
still has some reference. We've managed to find one module for which
error was thrown, but now website is throwing another code part missing
error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method UTIL_Browser::isSmartphone() in /home/elitefin/public_html/ow_core/ow.php on line 49
So your website script database is still referencing something that does
not exist anymore, and apparently did not exist for quite some time as
files have been pulled and merged from several backups so far, and none
of which have this.
Database and thus your members and their data is however unaffected,
only these missing references and PHP code method issues remain and
which are preventing the website script to properly load, and
unfortunately at this point the only way would be to contact oxwall
developers for assistance, as we have no means to troubleshoot oxwall
script internal code and structure.

we have done numerous back ups and still getting the same error... the lack of help.... even more frustrating this has been up over 24hours and still no help on a answer to fix.

Hey Amber S,
Try finding a database from two weeks ago before you even started ANY updates from 1.6.0 to 1.7 if you can, hosting companies backup a long way back. Then try a FRESH install of 1.6.0 version, (DO NOT UPDATE ANYTING to 1.7 version) then use the database from two weeks ago…see what you get? It worked for me…I had to replace a few tings from my backup script of 1.6.0....A good 36 hour task for me!

Unfort we have 1.5.3 we have tried 2 different data bases and to restore back to 1.5.3 but still get the same error as above after the restore so at a loss on how to fix the error and ty for taking the time to respond ps Im the Liz part of the user name lol

ok update we did what wilson suggested and it worked but it would be adviced that when u have 1.5.3 to update to the 1.6 first then 1.7 ty every one for your help and ty chris I have dled the file just in case this happens again its appreciated

Hey Amber S /Liz M,
Glad I could help and glad to see you got everything up and going again. I always load a test site and check things out before I update the core. Sometimes like your self I wait a long time (6 months) before updating the core...if its working and its not a security issue I let it work. But down side is once you skip a core update you may have problems jumping from that version to a higher version.
