Re-did database etc.
Back to go and all the same problems still exist.
Any other ideas?

Wow not good, seems like either something server side or something you are maybe missing.
Id suggest either allowing somebody else to have a go or trying to use a different host and see if you get the same result.
I can give you ftp to a sub on my site and you can try there and/or you can do the same for me on your site and i will have a go for you.

Also as for avatars do you have, ow_userfiles/base/avatars. I noticed my install missed them and i have to create the manually and CHMOD to 777.
What does the htaccess file say in
ow_userfiles/
it should say:
Options All -Indexes
ow_userfiles/base

So I don't have ow_userfiles/base/avatars but I do have ow_userfiles/plugins/base/avatars
Is that what you meant? If so they are all 777 already and I can see the uploads there.
My access file in ow_userfiles just says
Options All -Indexes
Although changing it did nothing for me.
The only thing that allows my uploaded images is to remove the htaccess file from that folder.
When I make changes to the htaccess in the root of the subfolder or remove it, I just lose all of my links. Seems funny to me that all other links except index work fine though.

Remove which .htaccess, from which folder the subdir root or the one in ow_userfiles? Even though your host said everything is fine, if you remove htaccess files and things start to work that sounds like an issue with the host and its htaccess files.

Sorry, to clarify when I remove the .htaccess from the ow_userfiles folder then my Avatar images appear correctly.
When I remove or change the .htaccess from the subdir root nothing works.
As it is with the the .htaccess from the subdir root all links work except the "main"
I do agree that something must be wrong with the .htaccess and my host as I wasn't even able to get a redirect to work properly. I have heard that others haven't had great luck with godaddy and Oxwall.
Regardless it is set up enough that I should be able to make the changes requested of me.

Yes but really you should go with a provider that Oxwall providers if you intend to do wonders with Oxwall ha. Good luck.
