As the admin of the site, am I supposed to be getting emails about users requesting access etc? I haven't received any such emails and don't know if they are a feature or not.

I am currently not using smtp. Emails are being sent for user email verification and using the "invite new members" link.

I don't see any settings were I can setup what notifications get sent, the obvious issue would be not knowing when someone requests access and let me know that I need to login and grant approval.

Jonathan, you can set Mandatory approve for users here: www.yourdomain.com/admin/permissions . Then you will need to approve those users, for them to enter the website. User list of the users who wait for you approval can be found on your dashboard.

As to the notification, there's no such.
