Anybody used this ?

phpMobilizer 1.0

phpMobilizer allows website owners to add mobile capabilities to their existing websites.

What is it?

Automatically convert your existing website to a mobile website. phpMobilizer operates similar to many of the mobile website converters available, but it runs on your own server.

The goal of the project is to make it as universal as possible. Just drop the files into a subdomain for automatic conversion. Add just one line of PHP to your main site if you want automatic redirection to the mobile site when someone accesses it with a phone or mobile device.

Features
  • Easy to set up. Just create a new subdomain for your site and upload the files.
  • Converts any website to a mobile site.
  • Resizes images for mobile sized browsers. Not only does it make them fit, but it reduces download size as well.
  • Automatic redirect to the mobile site is available. (Just add one line of code to your existing site.)
Requirements
  • PHP 5
  • Apache (.htaccess/mod_rewrite capable)

Installation
  1. Create a subdomain on your server called 'm'. (Ex: m.example.com)
    • Depending on what kind of hosting you have, the procedure to do this may be either editing configuration files and restarting the server, accessing a control panel, or having a system administrator set it up.
  2. Upload the files from the 'm' directory to the document root for your new subdomain. The filess you download for this script
  3. Your mobile site is working! Just visit your m subdomain to see it.

Setting up auto redirect

If your website is in PHP, you can use phpMobilizer to set up automatic redirection to your mobile site for mobile devices.

  1. First you will need to determine where to place the redirect code. Usually you would want to place it in a common include file, such as a config file, a database connection file or a header file.
  2. Add the following line of code before any html or text output.
    • require_once('/home/path/to/subdomain/m/mobilize.php');
    • Edit the path so it is pointing directly to the mobilize.php file, which will be in the subdomain's document root.
  3. Visit your website with a mobile device and verify it redirects you!

I am confused with these instructions do I just upload the files of this script to a subdomain and put a redirect on my main site ,it does not say anything about uploading your site website files also to this folderAny advice ? I was going to quite oxwall due to cant get the oxwall mobile working ,but if I can get this script working I might keep oxwall

If I do need to add some of my files off my main oxwall site which files would I need to add ?

  • require_once('/home/path/to/subdomain/m/mobilize.php');

    add this in index php should work

    you should not have to move any files off main site it should read them an server them from m directory
