I searched the forum and could not find this answer.
I noticed that when a new user joins my website, on the MY PROFILE notifications page, everything is check marked but not the Group selection.
Do you know how I can set the Group notification to be checked by default?
On a similar topic:
I would like the notification to be set to "Immediately" by default.
Can you please tell me where I can set this for all new users that join my website -- for the notifications to be set to "Immediately" by default?

In addition to that in order to change the default setting for the GROUP to be checkmarked I had to change this directly in the codes. I hope this can help others with the same question:
/ow_plugins/groups/init.php
Find the text "groups-add_comment"
Add this line after the 'description'
'selected' => true
