Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere, but I have searched the terms 'friends' and 'friend request' without finding a solution.
So I'm running 1.7.1 (build 8274)
We need an actual button on "friends only" profiles that will allow non-friends to request friendship.
Hope this makes sense?

Robert, even if a user has set the profile privacy to friends only, other users still able to go to his/her profile and "add to friends"

Ross, unfortunately this is not the case for my members. I even disabled any custom css and reverted my site back to the 'origin theme' and nothing changed the fact that there is no options or buttons to click "add friend". Here is a screen capture of what a private profile looks like in the "origin theme".

I sent you a PM. In addition, as the administrator, when I look at "friends only" profiles, I do see all of the buttons, but ordinary users do not. All user role permissions are the same as well, so that is not a factor.

The problem is caused by the profile cover plugin, I disabled it, however the profiles which have been created before still have only follow and block buttons, newly created have all (of course with the set privacy friends only).
