I think it's a key {text key='birthdays+feed_item_line'}.

So it must be " 本日は、 EIJI の誕生日です！", if translation is correct.

Eiji, no need to get new newsfeed plugin, the newsfeed item is the user activity which is displayed in the newsfeed.

the birthday item in the newsfeed was old, I edited profile info, and new newsfeed item appeared.

I'm sorry I can't make it any clearer. The issue is solved.

The content of the newsfeed is static. Which means that if a user chooses one language, even if you choose another language the item will be shown in the language which a user chose before. This is a bug and it's been reported to the developer team. It will be fixed asap.

I had a japanese language selected when the item was created in the newsfeed, which is why the item is translated in japanese

The one you have in english, this item was created in the newsfeed, as English was chosen by the user, now everyone who sees that item, disregarding of the language they choose, they'll see it in English as that is static info and it is recorded this way in the DB.

As I said it is a bug and it will be fixed asap.
