In order to make newsfeed only page:
If it is index page:
go here: www.yoursite.com/index/customize
-close all widgets except for the newsfeed
- drag and drop newsfeed into the top content area
if it is dashboard or profile newsfeed:
- you need to do the same here: www.yoursite.com/admin/user-profile or here: www.yoursite.com/admin/user-dashboard
as to the removing footer links
- go here: yoursite.com/admin/pages/manage
- drag and drop pages from the bottom menu section to the hidden pages section.
